I started to use Ubuntu two years ago. Ubuntu is the first Linux that I tried and I found it very user friendly. Ubuntu is based on Debian. The package manging system of Ubuntu made it so user friendly that many people are using it now. It is called aptitude. With the help of aptitude you can download anything that you may need to make your desktop very user friendly.
Here are some of things that I have tried and found to be successful in keeping my desktop nice.
